This week, Iranians for Democracy is pleased to announce we are about to be blessed with the presence of grace, a true mother of the democracy movement of Iran, a woman that decided at a young age to join in her mothers philosophy and follow the dreams of leading the women of Iran to the freedom of equal rights. This woman, who is a shining star for democracy, she is the voice of equal rights for all Iranian women, and women all over the world. She is a poet, a writer, a scholar, a teacher, and a true tiger. She is none other than my Aunt Simin. We are all welcoming her from Iran to the USA, where she is going to be a guest speaker on behalf of The Iranian Mothers for Freedom. As she will pass on the message of hope like she has done for many years, with inspiring messages. She is the voice of the democracy movement in Iran. My Aunt Simin has been imprisoned, beaten, and tortured by the Iranian government for her views and her way of life. She stands for free elections, free press, freedom of choice, and for everyone, including women, to be able to walk, talk, and achieve their dreams. My Aunt Simin said to me “Ali my nephew, in these times of hardship we all must join together and let the voice of freedom be heard. Let the Iranian people know that I will give my last words to see my country free, my people to live in peace, my children and my grandchildren to know in life you must not be afraid, or selfish, and you must go for the mission in life when it is your time.” I want to say God Bless my Aunt and I hope I can carry the torch of democracy with you in the streets of Iran soon. Let the happiness take you wherever you need to go in life. You are a true tiger, a spirit of the people from the past and the future. Long live the voices of the Iranian Mothers for Freedom in US and the world.

It is with great sadness to say the Iranian in the  world has lost a great freedom fighter. He is a man that followed his family’s legacy and footsteps and became one of the leaders of democracy in the 1980’s. He is a man that stood for freedom of speech and freedom of human rights in Iran. He is survived by two brothers and four sisters. He told me one day “Ali my nephew, you only live once and in life you must take a stand for something so that you can always be remembered for what you did to help mankind.”

Farshied Khalatbari

This great man was my uncle, Farshied KHALATBARI.  May God rest his soul. He went to the heavens on the 29th day of April in the year of 2006. I wish for all Ali’s men and women all over the world to take a moment and say a prayer for this great man. He taught me many lessons in life. He taught me how to listen, learn, and respect people. He stood for democracy and freedom. When I saw him for the last time he told me to send this message “It is time for all of us to change the scope of our lives and remember you only live once so be kind to one another, love one another, help one another, because we all only live once.” God Bless my Uncle. I will always remember him in all that I do to save our people in Iran. God Speed and I hope one day that I will see you in the heavens. But for now, I will see you in the stars. This is in the memory of my Uncle Farshied, man of vision and honesty. Remember, we can do this together, one person at a time, one vote at a time, one country at a time.

Ladies and Gentleman of the world, war is not the answer. Democracy, freedom, and saving lives is the answer. We have a war in Iraq; do we need another in Iran? When we have Ali, the voice of democracy, war is not the answer. If my grandfather were alive, he would ask you these questions. Why not let my grandson, Ali, help the people of the Middle East? Why not join the cause and let Ali become the goodwill ambassador to the Middle East? Why not let Ali lead the way to democracy? Why not? After all, he is a special man. God saved Ali from a bad car accident at a young age so that he could work for the freedem of Iranian  and the Middle east people. That was my grandfather’s belief. My mother also believed this and always said “Ali my son, you are a special person and you were saved from death for something special in life, so whatever you do or touch will always turn to success.” Ladies and gentleman, this is why, war is not the answer. With the majority of the Iranian people ready for the democracy movement to start, war is not the answer. It is time for the old lions to step aside. We the people do not want nuclear weapons or war. We want to live. We the people want peace, democracy, freedom, and happiness. The Russians need to stop the support of sending nuclear technology to Iran. Have they not learned anything from their own nuclear disaster? What do you think will happen to them being so close to Iran? President Putin, let us help make peace and democracy, not nuclear disaster. Please join the cause, we need your help, we need your support, we need your leadership, to make peace. We can do this together, one person at a time, one vote at a time, one country at a time.

I want to take this time and give my condolences to all the mothers, fathers, and family members in the US, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East and all over the world who have lost a loved one to this struggle. I am very sorry for your loss and want you to know that we the people will stop the old lions and the killers of our people together. I want the leaders of the world to know they must join the cause. I want all the people of the world to join the cause. We need to stop the killers of our brothers, sisters, and our family members. We need to let the torch of democracy and freedom be carried out throughout the Middle East. As the movement has begun in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and the whole Middle East, the time to stop the killing of our brothers and sisters and their children is now. If you are killing in the name of God Allah, God does not want you to do that. Ali does not want you to do that. If you are just a killer and a murderer of your Muslim brothers and sisters and any other human being, I want you to stop. If you do not, you and your kind will be forever branded as killers. May you always see the faces of the people you have killed and be haunted by them in your dreams, in your thoughts, and in your mind forever and ever, until you and your kind will see Ali in the court of law, where you will have to answer to the people for your crimes. It is time to tell the old lions enough is enough. We the people want peace and harmony, democracy and freedom. We are not killers. It is time to tell the old lions. “No” not my cubs, not my children. It is time today old lions. We have seen what you have done with our children and our country and our way of life. Enough! It is time for the true tigers of the Muslim world, the mothers of democracy and freedom, to say no not my child, not my tiger. It is time for the little tiger’s fathers to say, “No” not my children, not my little tigers, not my lifeline, not my future. No, no enough, old lions. It is time to say we the people want the future in democracy, peace for our country, our family, and ourselves. No more bombs, no more killings, enough old lions. We can do this together, one person at a time, one vote at a time, one country at a time.

What does democracy stand for? It stands for faith for all mankind. It does not matter who you are, what shape, what color, or what religion you believe in. Why is this? At the end of the day, we all pray to our higher power and God in heaven, that’s why. We must respect all the people of the world. We must respect each other’s countries, cultures, and religions. We must find a way for the East and the West to get together. We must learn from one another. We must free our people and let democracy rule, and we must once again sing the songs of brotherhood throughout the world.
